Steph Draper
Stephanie is a charity leader and experienced board member aiming to make a significant contribution to improving people’s lives. She combines a career focused on big issues such as climate change, food and equity, with an artist practice that seeks to engage people and improve wellbeing.
She is currently the Director of Innovation and Practice at Involve, aiming to make public participation part of our everyday democracy. She brings a wealth of experience to Creative Response, including CEO of Bond, the UK membership body for international development organisations; Chair of the Sustainable Shipping Initiative; and Deputy CEO and Executive Director, Asia Pacific at Forum for the Future. She has an open and collaborative approach, underpinned by knowledge and experience of good governance, financial management, fundraising and people management. She is experienced at influencing government, engaging communities and driving scale through clear, impactful communications, speaking truth to power and understanding how change happens.
Her art practice combines printmaking and painting to tell stories of the impact that we have on each other and the environment. Her work is grounded in place through maps and is increasingly about engaging others in how we live and what future we want. During lockdown she put together an art book ‘Words and Colours from lockdown’ based on weekly paintings that interpreted people’s moods. She is an avid cyclist who enjoys nature and the outdoors and spending time over good food with friends and family.
