Summer Exhibition

We are excited to announce our upcoming summer show, Komorebi, opening on Saturday 7 June.
Komorebi is a Japanese word that translates literally as “sunlight leaking through trees”. It describes a pattern of light and shadow, and the beauty of dappled sunlight on a dark forest floor. Komorebi invites us to take notice; it offers a moment of peace.
This phenomenon recalls what we seek to achieve at the Creative Response studios. Our art sessions filter light into our members’ lives: both through the process of creative work, which offers respite and a chance to escape into ‘flow’; and through the connection and belonging that being part of our community provides.
Komorebi also recalls some very special art sessions this year. On a series of visits to local green spaces, including Alice Holt forest, and the Bourne woods, there has been the chance for all in our community to find joy in the natural world around us, and in making work inspired by it.
We hope that coming to see the fresh and dynamic new work presented in the exhibition will offer something akin to the joy of Komorebi to our local community. Please do come along!
