About

Creative Response is a Farnham-based charity offering community arts-based workshops for people experiencing mental ill-health, learning and physical difficulties.  Artists work with participants in our studio, guiding and facilitating the creation of paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics and more.

As well as providing therapeutic activities within the community, our work creates a community of people who support and nurture each other. We provide an opportunity for social connection and create a place of belonging for those who may struggle to engage with social life due to mental ill-health.

 

When James first attended Creative Response he kept his headphones on and wouldn’t speak to anyone. As a family, we were desperate to get some outside contact for him. Creative Response has been quite literally a lifesaver.

Our Team

We are passionate advocates of the benefits of the arts for mental health and wellbeing, and are proud to have been serving the community for over 30 years.

Artists

We have a core team of artists, as well as a small number of artist associates who we invite to support the team from time-to-time.

Executive Team

Working alongside the artist team is our executive team. Our Chief Executive Officer, Kathryn, has overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the organisation. Anna, our Operations Manager is responsible for introducing the new referrals to the service and logistics for art sessions. Anna and Kathryn are supported by an admin officer and a finance administrator.

The Board

Our board reflects our desire to be as representative as possible of the community we serve.

Volunteers

Our work is further supported by a dedicated team of volunteers, who primarily support the smooth running of art sessions, but may also support the wider running of the organisation in providing admin or event support.
